Diapers
Even before Majid was born, I decided not to use the conventional diapers because I couldn’t stand the thought of contributing to the diaper mountain which will outlast a few lifetimes. Once I became pregnant, I decided against cloth diapers b/c we didn’t have laundry machines. I was very please to find G-Diapers b/c they’re compostable w/a cloth outer layer. They leaked a bit in the beginning but I got a handle on that and they are just fine but expensive. We kept using them especially b/c Majid’s sensitive skin did not tolerate other diapers. They are also suppose to be flushable but we stopped doing that b/c our old plumbing could not handle it.
I also started using the Seventh Generation brand for outings and night times and these are fine too. These diapers are a little cheaper than G-Diapers but they’re both costly and we make a sacrifice to continue with them.
I was REALLY excited when I thought found Nature Babycare diapers b/c they claimed to be compostable but work just like conventional disposable diapers. Oh, but did they leak! And then, I read that they’re not compostable for household composts anyway! Never buying them again.
Now that Majid is older, he poops and pees less and I have a much better idea of when he’s having a bowel movement. So I just got Majid some potty training undies so we can use less diapers and get him rolling on potty training. Will let ya know how those work…

Baby lotions
Majid started having eczema at around month 4 and I was desperate to get it under control by using organic treatments. So I’ve tried many and this is the one that works the best in moisturizing his sensitive skin:
Nature’s Baby Organics’ Organic Aloe, Chamomile, & Calendula lotion.

I’ve tried other brands - Shikai’s Dry Skin Therapy for kids, California Baby, calendula oi, etc. – but they did not work like the one mentioned above.
I did end up using hydrocortisone when the eczema became really bad (summer time dry heat) then I discovered this lotion and we’ve been maintaining pretty well since then. Hope this helps.
